Volvorii smart shoe embedded with customizable e-ink panels can change patterns

Volvorii smart shoe to change pattern to match ones outfit
It looks like very soon the age old puzzle of which shoe to wear would disappear. Volvorii smart shoe is a pair of chic high heeled shoe with an embedded e-ink panel that is customizable to display different patterns that go matching with ones outfit. The smart shoe that has hit the Indiegogo campaign has its flexible e-paper panels on its sides.
It might actually seem like we are starting to see the potential of e-ink that is now broadly used in e-readers of course and then comes the Pebble smart watch followed by the e-ink YotaPhone, e-ink pricing tags and the e-ink multi-card. Lately now with this Volvorii smart shoe it shows how strong it could be in fashion as well.
Volvorii Timeless peep-toe smart shoe is created by iShüu Technologies, a startup based in Beijing and Lithuania. Seeking funding on Indiegogo, iShüu Technologies is selling the shoe for $149 (limited to ten pairs) as a Super Early Bird price and then is to raise it to $199 and then $249. RRP is still not announced. Shipping of the shoe is scheduled for December 2015.
The Volvorii shoe, same like the LookSee e-paper bracelets  and Tago Arc, shown this year uses low power, flexible e-paper display to decorate the shoes. A Bluetooth LE module is seen embedded in the heel to connect with the smartphones (either iPhone or Android phone) that customize the switching patterns.

Volvorii Timeless Smart Shoe Features:

The shoes are made available in black and white that can be customized with patterns that match variety of patterned outfits. There is this flexible e-ink display integrated on the shoe’s top that shows the patterns. An associated smartphone app is to be released the same time that is to allow the wearer change the screen’s display.  It is then it will be known whether Volvorri would release different pattern or the users themselves can design their own patterns via the app.
The Bluetooth low-energy receiver inserted into the heel of the shoe’s sole allows the wearer to program the e-ink display in a pattern that best match with their outfit, it can be a polka dotted pattern or animal stripes or may be the pattern of flowers.
There is to be both physical as well as digital customization option available with the shoe. The toe top and back of the heel act as the anchors to which accessories can be attached by the wearer. For example, a bow or a flower can be attached to the toe while the back can have an ankle strap.
The shoe’s battery is claimed to last for about two to six months, all thanks to e-ink as it requires only less power. The shoe also gets the advantage of being charged wirelessly with the charger that is provided in the box and it is only every few weeks (at most) changing is required.
As of now the Volvorii smart shoe’s display screen is to appear either in black or white e-paper alone but in future this could change. The company is to give future models with color e-paper screens same like the Pebble Time Kickstarter. The wearable shoe tech market is still in its early stage but Volvorii is sure to offer a peep into the footwear’s possible future.

Volvorii Timeless Smart Shoe’s Make:

Coming to the shoes make, they like any other shoes are made of leather and rubber available in both black and white colors. Sizes of the models are to be made available currently in European sizes ranging from 36 to 40 while larger and smaller sizes such as 41, 35, 34 etc are to be finalized.
With regards to the exact weight of the shoe there seems to be no detail revealed but it can be accepted that the Volvorii is also to weigh the same like any other normal high heeled shoe.
Also for now there is only one style of shoe but the company has listed a stretch goal prototype slingback style if it reaches its Indiegogo goal of $50,000. Additionally the company is also in plans to sell detachable fasteners and accessories via a platform that is to be launched allowing changing of the shoe style both digitally as well as physically.
Volvorii smart shoe is now in the Indiegogo campaign to fund its goal of $50,000
It is originally a working prototype that was created by the iShüu team to compete in the Louis Vuitton Prize. But now the team is in need of funds to change the prototype into a final product.
Already it seems the product is gaining interest in China with about 85,000 interested audience so far. The Indiegogo campaign is to end by April 12.
