Thomas Was Alone – Game-Play:
Thomas Was Alone game is a 2D platforming iPad game where the player can go for controlling the seven distinct AIs who has the form of different quadrilaterals and each one has its own unique personality and ability. Besides this, there are some who are quite energetic, some who help others to reach the higher platforms and some who are useless and mostly just a burden on the rest of the group. In this Thomas was Alone game, Thomas and James can jump fairly high and can take care of themselves and also can reach the places most of the time without anyone’s help. As they are practically the same, except James hangs upside down and jumps downwards, then there are John and Sarah, both of who moves very quickly and can jump very high, even Sarah can do double jump and are generally a hoot to control. After that, comes Claire and Laura and Claire is big, slow, can’t jump very high at all but she can float on water and therefore, can be used to ferry others over water, nether of whom can swim. Laura can do shortest jump but the player can bounce off her very high and she is useful to get to those hard to reach places. In Thomas was Alone game, finally comes Chris, but this Chris is useless, slow, has one of the shortest jumps and has no special ability and he is basically a liability on others and most of the gameplay often includes using others to get him to higher platforms because he himself can not reach there on his own. Other than these characters, towards the end of the game crosses a few other characters of some of whom don’t have any special ability of theirs but they gain the ability to swim, double jump, hang upside down or turn into a bouncy surface temporarily but these characters are only for a short duration of the game and most of the time the player will be playing with the main characters. Thomas was Alone game’s goal in each level is to get these characters to their respective portal at the end and to get there, the player have to jump on platforms and dodge the obstacles and sometimes use each other’s abilities to get themselves and others to their destination. often sometimes, the player will be playing with a single AI and almost all levels have at least two and the player switch between them by pressing the respective color tabs on either side of the screen. When comes to the PC and consoles, the player had to use the D-Pad to cycle through the different characters that was a bit tiring, but this method to directly select the AI want on the iPad offers it a leg up on its bigger counterparts.
