ZTE Nubia Z9 Max – an Overview:
ZTE, a Chinese-based mobile manufacturer at the MWC 2015 quietly showcased its newest Nubia series high-end handsets, the Nubia Z9 Max and Nubia Z9 Mini. Both the smartphones are to first reach the China market while nothing yet is confirmed with regards to their availability outside China. The ZTE Nubia Z9 Max with a price tag of CNY 2,499 (i.e. about Rs. 25,100) is to go on sale starting April 16.
Being the successor to the ZTE Nubia Z7 Max smartphone, the ZTE Nubia Z9 Max powered by an Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor is the company’s first smartphone to run on the said processor. Forming the base for the smartphone is the Android 5.0 Lollipop -based Nubia UI 2.8 OS.
Featuring a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display, the Nubia Z9 Max comes with 1080×1920 pixels resolution offering about 401ppi pixel density. The phone display further gets Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. An octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor (quad-core 2GHz + quad-core 1.5GHz) powers the phone coupled with 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM. There’s 16GB built-in storage available on the phone which can further be expanded via microSD card up to 128GB.
The handset supports dual Nano-SIMs and is backed up with a 2900mAh battery. There is a 16-megapixel LED flash rear camera along with Sony IMX234 Exmor RS sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The front facing camera on the other hand is of 8-megapixel with a f/2.4 aperture.

The ZTE Nubia Z9 Max smartphone is said to sport photo editing features. There are several tools made available for its 16-megapixel rear-camera. It with having meters for white balance adjustment, ISO levels and exposure also has many shooting modes which are meant to take advantage of the long-exposure feature of the camera.
The smartphone is said to include different settings like light painting (users are given the opportunity to drag a light sources, so different fanciful light effects can be made), super night and star track. For Star track, users need to set their Z9 Max on a tripod for about 6 to 8 hours for capturing the movement of the stars.
Further, the recording capabilities of the phone include shooting in 4K and 1,080p HD video.
On coming to its design, the unibody designed ZTE Nubia Z9 Max comes with metal-rimmed edges and curved corners. All these features make it look more like the Apple iPhone 6. At the rear back the phone is made again with glass giving the phone a glossy premium look. Though at a close look, the Nubia Z9 Max looks more polished and elegant irrespective of its iPhone similarities, it still feels significantly heavier and dense on hand.
There seems to be both black and white variants available for the ZTE Nubia Z9 Max. The handset with its 5.5-inch display gets an ultra-sharp look.
