LeTV one of China’s leading manufacturers has announced three new “Superphones”. These Superphones are expected to make its grand way to the United States. These budget friendly phones are named Le Max, Le 1 Pro and Le 1. What is the highlighted feature that makes these phones a wonder? These are the first range of smartphones to feature the USB Type-C
charging ports. Copying the series of from Nokia N1, the new
Chromebook, and the new MacBook LeTV has ventured into making the USB
Type-C smartphones. The design cues of these Superphones have taken
the iPhone 6 Plus design.
The CEO of LeTV Jia Yueting, compared
Apple to Hitler in an ad that was featured last month on Weibo a
Chinese social network. He later apologised for the blunder. Hoping that
those remarks won’t have any negative effects on the launch set down,
LeTV in Los Angeles and Redwood City is offering smartphones and smart
TV that is expected to be available later in the year.
JD Howard, General Manger, LeTV said,
“In
China we have built a reputation around our applications, innovative
hardware and massive library of high-quality streaming content. Entering
the U.S market we will have to focus on initial device and content
offerings, while continuing to build our U.S ecosystem. The model is new
to U.S, but we have a blueprint for how it works and are actively
looking for technology and creative partners to benefit from the
strength of the full ecosystem effect.”

Superphone Expectations
There is still no information regarding
the pricing of Le Max. LeTV has not announced the release date for the
Superphones quite as yet. But it start off with a company that has
never made smartphones before the specification of the phones seems to
be pretty ambitious. With such specifications the company is all set for
aggressive campaigning. LeTV has no plans to make huge profits on these
devices. As already there is a huge smartphone market in China and the
company is in no need to set challenges. The specifications speak for
itself. Moreover the company’s core business is on video streaming and
production. Hence it is more happy selling phones and TVs at low prices
to attract customers. That is quite a clever tactic that the company
seeks and shouldn’t worry with local competitors such as Xiaomi and
Huawei’s Honour.
