Intex launches two Affordable Dual-SIM Smartphones, the Intex Aqua HD 5.0 and Intex Aqua Y2

Intex in India seems to have quietly launched two new dual-SIM smartphones, the Intex Aqua HD 5.0 and Intex Aqua Y2. The two new Intex smartphones are now listed on the company’s site and are to be priced at Rs. 7,790 (the Aqua HD 5.0) and at Rs 5,190 (Aqua Y2).
There are no details revealed officially with regards to the smartphones availability, expected by the company to announce them soon.

On coming to their specifications let’s start with Intex Aqua Star HD 5.0:

The Intex Aqua HD 5.0 being costlier of the two is also beefier. It can be considered the average mid-range smartphone. As the name suggest, the device comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display with 720×1280 pixels resolution. Running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS, the phone supports dual-SIM. Apart from this, powering the handset is a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6582V) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. There is 8GB built-in storage that via microSD card can expand up to 32GB.
Rear Camera is a 13-megapixel autofocus camera with flash and the front camera is of 5-megapixel. Battery supporting the device is a 2300mAh battery that is capable of delivering about 6 hours of 3G talk time.
Connectivity options available on this device include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, GPS/ A-GPS and Micro-USB along with HSPA connectivity. The Intex Aqua HD 5.0 is to be available in Golden Blue and Golden Black shade variants.

Now let’s have a look at the Intex Aqua Y2 Specifications:

Aqua Y2 is Intex’s upgraded version of its series which includes the Y2 Pro and Y2 Remote handsets. The Aqua Y2 like its counterparts continues to support entry-level hardware and is run by Android 4.4 KitKat.
This device also supports dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality. It comes sporting a 4-inch WVGA IPS display with 480×800 pixels resolution. Powering the device is a 1.2GHz quad-core Spreadtrum (SC7731) processor combined with 1GB of RAM. Inbuilt storage is of 8GB that is further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.
At the back is an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and in the front is a 2-megapixel camera. A 1400mAh battery backs up the device.
Connectivity options available are Bluetooth, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, A-GPS and Micro-USB.
Also Intex, earlier this month introduced an Aqua Xtreme smartphone series new variant called the Aqua Xtreme V at a price of Rs. 11,290 that is slightly less than the Aqua Xtreme which costs Rs. 11,490. On looking at the only difference between the two, the Aqua Xtreme and the Aqua Xtreme V – the latter gets 16GB of inbuilt storage included while the former has 32GB. Other specifications of the two remain the same.
