Contradictory to the name, LG’s Rolly
Keyboard, it really doesn’t roll. This peripheral unfolds segment by
segment the four rows of the keyboard lay neatly on the flat surface and
clack magnetically into place around a square spine. The rod of Rolly is neat and balanced and could easily slip into the bag.
Rolly
Much of the keyboard is taken by plastic that seems useless. That is because when typing on the Rolly
the fingers bump into the top bar. But for a portable keyboard this
seems to be a satisfying device. The Rolly comes with a Bluetooth
pairing functionality and also lets you connect it to two different
devices at once. The battery bar also holds a pair of concealed arms
that allows you to prop up a tablet or smartphone at a laptop-like angle
for doing work. The Rolly could run for about three months on a single
AAA battery. The benefit of having a keyboard that rolls up around its
battery, of course, is that it takes up the least amount of space in
your backpack. The magnets that run down either side of the key grid are
no weaklings, keeping the thing tightly wound and generating a
satisfying snap as you roll it up.
