The Government of India has launched a new website on the occasion of the 69th Independence Day of the country, aiming at helping students who are seeking education loans. The new portal vidyalakshmi.co.in
already has five nationalised banks integrated their portal with it,
and will help those students who are looking for education loans to
pursue higher education.

The new website has been developed and will be maintained by NSDL e-governance Infrastructure limited (NSDL e-Gov).
The whole initiative is under the guidance of Department of higher
Education, Department of Financial services in Finance ministry,
ministry of human resource development, and the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA). The website is part of the Pradhan Mantri Vidya Lakshmi Karyakram (PMVLK) program launched by the government of India.
