Android one project was launched by Google during the I/O developer conference last year. Through this project, the company is trying to improve the user experience of affordable android smartphones. The android maker has made tie ups with several OEMs including Indian handset manufacturers such as Micromax, Spice, Lava and Karbon to launch android smartphones which costs less, but will have decent specifications. Google Managing Director for India and South East Asia, Mr. Rajan Anandan said the company is committed to the Android One project and has plans to launch more affordable handsets in the South East Asian market, and thus target the cost conscious Indian Market by launching smartphones which costs between Rs. 2000 and Rs. 3000.
