Digital India Week was a huge success this time. It got a positive response from all parts of the world. Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was of the view that it was one of the successful events to take place. It was welcomed with an overwhelming response by the prominent political personalities. All the state governments were keen on inviting many of the political persons in this event.
The good part was that all the political egos and ideologies we kept aside which made the Digital India Week a success. In a recent interview with the reporters in New Delhi, the minister stated that Digital India initiative goes beyond party, politics and ideologies. This event witnessed more than 160 events in duration of one week at the respective state headquarters. It was a huge event which witnessed many elite people of political world.
A huge successful event it was
Ravi Shankar Prasad was there in the event most of the time. He said that more than 250 services were launched in various departments. Keeping in mind the importance of each, the services were launched in the various departments like health information, utility services, smart public distribution system (PDS) card, land record services, mobile app for civic amenities, services for farmers, social welfare and pension services, electoral services, online court services, police services, and employment exchange services. Not to forget, all this took place in duration of one week.
Events took place at the district level too. More than 438 districts participated and 1238 events took place in total. This required many people to manage and work on proper functioning of such events. Thus, more than 135,000 government officials as well as common people were informed about the Digital India Programme and they took active participation in such events.
Digital India Week reached every nook and corner of the country
“Digital India Week” was launched on the 1st of July. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This event also witnessed India Inc investing more than 450,000 crores so as to provide employment to common people and empower them with IT and associated tools. This initiative will surely help people earn more bucks and lead a settled life, thus help the country to transform for developing to a developed one. This event was in profit of common people as well as politicians who were able to serve their best there.
Ravi Shankar Prasad was well aware of the events organised across 57000 common service centres (CSC). These events were attended by more than 3.4 lakh people. People came from rural as well as urban areas. All the rural citizens, youth, and e-service users participated well. Statistics says that more than 1500 post offices witnessed these events and a good number of 175000 citizens were informed about it in advance.
Thus, many of the prime political leaders made their presence felt, especially, Narendra Modi, whose Digital Dialogue initiative received good response on Twitterand other networking sites.
