TaxiForSure is a famous company which helps people hire taxis and autos to commute to nearby places. It follows the likes of similar companies like Olacabs,Uber, Meru and others. Recently, the Delhi government stated that TaxiForSure is not authorized to operate in this country, and it is doing its business in an illegal manner. All these reasons have compelled the government to take stringent and prompt actions. This issue came in light after a woman from Faridabad said that the driver of this app-based company tried to indulge in an obscene act when she was using this service to travel from South Delhi to Faridabad.
The Delhi government was of the statement that app-based services are a good initiative only if they don’t have to compromise on the safety of women. They have taken the details of the incident are looking into the matter. Women safety is the top priority of the government, and they will never adjust on that for the sake of such services. The victim was brave enough to speak about it in public and inform the police at the right time. She also voiced against such services on Facebook and Twitter on July 3, 2015.
TaxiForSure has not authorized its service by Delhi government
TaxiForSure is operating in an illegal way because they didn’t obtain the rights to run their services by the government of Delhi. This has forced the government to take strict actions against the company head. Such services should never be encouraged and people should avail only those services which have the permission of the government and which are safe to use. If cases of women harassment rise, then it will be tough to maintain the peace of the country. It is better to ban such services in their initial stage or make some reforms in their policies.
Currently, the Delhi government, especially the department of transport, is on its way to finalize the action they would take against TaxiForSure. The Delhi government is much concerned about women safety as many of the commuters travelling across the city are females. They work to curb such acts which can bring shame to the capital and the entire nation. Moreover, they don’t want the culprits to go unpunished and safe so as to commit more such heinous acts.
Delhi high court is looking into the matter to come up with a conclusion
On Wednesday, Delhi High Court looked into the matter and set aside an order for the capital government. In this direction, Uber’s application to get licence was rejected by the Delhi government. They even asked the department of transport to put certain conditions on such services to operate throughout the country. To this, the Delhi government said that it will study the matter about app-based services deeply after looking into the details of the order and their action.
Finally it is in the hands of the department of transport to take the final action and impose the same on the services.
