Future Smartphones – the likes and dislikes

 Future Smartphones
Future Smartphones
With tough competition in the market, Smartphones are getting better and better. They are getting more powerful with sleeker, thinner and bigger bodies. All this is fine but they are even getting boring . Apple gets it from Samsung while Samsung turns back at Apple. HTC imitates them both in different ways while Chinese makers borrow from everyone. It becomes a sadistic circle then.
Phones were once used to contact and communicate with distant people but now it is not the only usage of it. With advance in technology phones are becoming most important for mankind.  But considering the design of today’s phones they are becoming incredibly conservative. The phone industry is one such industry that can be measured empirically. On considering a phone to be the best, the following attributes are noted the most –
  • How fast is the phone?
  • What is its maximum storage capacity?
  • How big are the display and its resolution?
  • How sharp is it?
In total this turns out to be the comfortable space to compete in. Everyone would definitely accept that four is better than two and so it doesn’t seem to be difficult to convince people.
With all this doing well, on looking at the design innovation of today’s phones they seem to have replicating the same old fashion that is turning out to be boring. Just recollect the last time when you were taken aback by a design of a phone. As said by Apple’s design genius Jony Ive, it is relatively easy to do something that is different and new but to do something that is genuinely better is difficult. And it is this genuinely better is what not many companies can do better.
With two 1080p displays the all new Gionee W900 is really a magnificent designed phone when compared with the present corny mobile design market. Yet the form factor remains the same which is a bit non-convincing. So to get rid of this monotonous phone world let’s have a look at the emerging future phone design concepts that though cannot be promised of how practical they might be working out but yes they seem to be interesting.
What might be everyone’s likes?
Lets tour on the design concepts that might really amaze every Smartphone wisher.

Slider designed phones:
The once considered chic and stylish clamshell and slider designed phones are now not doing well and the reason may be the need to have larger display which is why the flip phone design were bid goodbye by manufacturers. But how about considering a slider design that opens up to give a larger display? This really does make sense were people would love to have a slider Smartphone that can open up to give larger display rather than carrying a Smartphone that is bigger in size. The inner section of the slider Smartphone can get aligned to the outer section and together they can serve to give a larger display, thereby ending up in giving a portable chic device.

Flexible/Bendable Display phones:
Next is the upcoming flexible and bendable display, yes we can expect some innovations with this design as well. Consider a phone design that has a sleek and flexible display that can be wrapped into a tiny compartment. Isn’t refreshing to think about? Well the Samsung One concept is the one that showed us how it would be if a lustrous pen transforms into a large screen phone. The sleek pen easily fits into our pockets and when the 6-inch flexible screen is pulled out it turns out to be a full-fledged mobile device. It also makes it possible for the user to know all the updates without even pulling out the screen and for this one has to view notifications that are displayed on the embedded touchscreen of the concept pen’s body.
The below image shows out the concept and the question here is how effective will the battery be? Yet looking interesting the hope of every innovative Smartphone lovers is to have this concept reach the mainstream markets very soon.

Smartwatch Concept:
The current hype is the smartwatches and their increasing numbers where every big company is trying to do their best in giving out the perfect smartwatche. Apple and Google getting into this product creation, the craze for these smartwatches are increasing day by day and so are the manufactures. How cool it would be for a smartwatch to do everything similar to your Smartphone, it with a projector that serves as a keyboard.  Apple’s iPhone palm concept phone is one such example for it.
This device from Apple is truly unconventional and is something that goes about with Apple’s weight loss therapy. There is no need for you to carry this phone in your pockets as it can be strapped around your wrist. This wearable device gets a projector which projects the normal homescreen on your palm while navigation can be done with your fingers on the projected display.  There’s a small touchscreen on the device with some notifications and shortcuts. On the whole this looks to be innovative and witty.

Flexible materials can also be used to build the smartwatches. Nowadays, though not commercialized widely, we see lot of flexible/bendable display concepts. So the wearable devices can be strapped on your wrists that when unfolded turns out to be a complete smartphone. With many such concepts touring online it makes us hope that someday they might become practical. Not just being a tech product these wearable devices can also turn out to be fashionable accessories.
It looks like LG and Oppo are trying to show some innovations in their design. Like LG G3’s button arrangement and Oppo N series swivel camera are some of the notable design evolutions. So something similar is what we can expect with the camera module arrangement on the future phones. Check out the Spinner Windows phone’s modular camera module, the phone with a metallic frame really looks chic and canny.

What we don’t like to have?
With having done with what is wanted in our future Smartphone lets also consider what is definitely or otherwise at least not wanted in our future smartphones.
Definitely a phablet with more than 5.5-inches seems to be a bit larger but this doesn’t mean that we would want a bigger tablet with detachable Smartphone. This looks meaningless. For this it is better to manage with slightly larger phablet.
A bigger tablet with detachable phone is not what we might want

Smartwatches are really cool, but this doesn’t mean that we would like to have something more sleek and tiny to talk on. I am sure people would not like to talk over with devices fitted to their finger rings. And also additional dongles or clips controlling phones seem ridiculous.
So if future Smartphones are created considering people’s choice with innovative design’s it might wonder struck us to carry on wandering with futuristic smartphones.
