BSNL, the public sector landline, mobile and internet service provider is yet again on news for bringing something special for its customers. Earlier this year, to retain their fast dropping landline customer base they had started offering free night calls to all their landline customers. Now moving a further step ahead, BSNL is planning to allow their landline customers to link their BSNL mobile to it and avail the free calling benefits on their mobiles too.
The PSU which has invested over Rs.400 crores to modernise its landlines, is all set to roll out a convergence platform which will sync landline connection and mobile number of the subscribers. This will allow the subscribers to make the best use of both these services provided by the company. “We are in the process of rolling out fix mobile convergence platform by Diwali. This will enable consumers avail value added service in mobile phones, make free night calls from mobile phones if they have subscribed to landline and host of other modern facilities,” BSNL chairman and MD Anupam Shrivastava told PTI
